China's top diplomat Wang Yi held the 28th China-France Strategic Dialogue with French President's Diplomatic Adviser Emmanuel Bonne in Datong, north China's Shanxi Province, on Saturday.

The China-France Strategic Dialogue has served head-of-state diplomacy and consolidated political mutual trust, said Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs.

China is willing to work with France to fully implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, make new efforts to ensure the steady and sustained development of China-France and China-EU relations, and promote world peace, stability and development, he said.

Wang also said China is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with France, continue to expand and strengthen cooperation in traditional areas such as aviation, aerospace and nuclear energy, and broaden cooperation in emerging areas including advanced manufacturing, green and low-carbon development, and artificial intelligence. China hopes that France will provide policy support and a favorable environment for Chinese enterprises investing and doing business in the country.

China and France should strengthen communication and coordination, jointly promote the implementation of the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and work together to build a more just and equitable global governance system, Wang noted. He added China hopes that France will honor its commitment to the one-China policy and safeguard the political foundation of China-France relations.

Bonne said France is ready to work with China to continuously build a comprehensive strategic partnership characterized by mutual respect, friendship and mutual trust, solidity and vitality. France adheres to the one-China policy, he added.

France looks forward to closer high-level exchanges, stronger people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and deeper mutually beneficial cooperation with China in various fields to better benefit the two peoples, Bonne said. France will continue to provide a predictable business environment for Chinese enterprises, he noted.

Bonne spoke positively of China's global initiatives and said France is willing to strengthen multilateral coordination with China.

Wang said China and the European Union (EU) are fully capable of properly handling economic and trade differences via dialogue and bringing bilateral relations back on a track of stable and sound development. He expressed hope that France will continue to play a constructive role in promoting mutually beneficial China-EU cooperation.

Bonne said the EU does not want a trade war with China, nor does it seek to "decouple" from China, and is willing to be a trustworthy and reliable partner of the country.
